The ‘Shakespeare’ tulips stayed all closed up for days on end.
Then the sun came out for two days and coaxed them into showing their faces. Of course the rain came back with a vengeance and battered them to shreds, but it was lovely while it lasted. I hope you enjoyed the little respite as much as I did.
Poor tulips…more sun at the weekend…please
I did, and I’m in desperate need of more. Funny, until I grew some little tulips this year, I never realized they opened and closed…guess I can’t really call myself a gardener. Yours are lovely!
They don’t call them “ephemerals” for nothing. It’s sad isn’t it? The sun has been so nice though and even now, it’s cloudy but warm. I think spring may have sprung.
Linda~ Ask and ye shall receive.
Jane~If you can’t call yourself a gardener, I don’t know who can.
Grace~ We can hope.
I think this very same thing happened to me over the weekend, only it involved flip flops and my toes not flower petals.
Loree~Happy toes the last few days?
I hope you’re getting a nice dose of Shakespeare (and sun) for April Bloomday!
James~More sunny days than we have seen in months.
Andrea~Yes, and looking at the photo brings back the feeling of sun on face.
