Ceanothus 'Blue Jeans' & Euonymus 'Emerald 'N' Gold'

The shrub in the background is Euonymus ‘Emerald “N” Gold’. It adds a spark of color to Delusional Drive throughout the year. When Ceanothus ‘Blue Jeans’ joins in the fun, it makes a striking combination.

Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue' & Narcissus hawera

Across the drive, the blue and yellow theme continues, with mounds of Veronica peduncularis ‘Georgia Blue’ surrounding an occasional clump of the dainiest and latest Narcissus, hawera. Anna, at Flutter & Hum has introduced a new meme called Wednesday Vignette. She has a great eye, so be sure to check her out as she turns it on the garden, and beyond, in search of interesting confluences.

    • Emily~This is the first year that ‘Blue Jeans’ has looked this good. It’s a less showy blue than some of the others, so it needs a little help to look its best.

  1. Oh Ricki – I’m so excited you jumped in and joined us! Isn’t it funny that three out of four vignettes this week feature blue and yellow? (Albeit a chartreuse kind of yellow in yours and mine.) Such lovely spring abundance – love it all, but those Haweras are adorable!

  2. I do love blue and yellow. Most of the pots on my patio are in those shades. They remind me of sun and sky or maybe it’s just my Swedish genes coming out. I love those little narcissus. They’re foliage is much thinner than the daffs I’m growing.

    • Tammy~Everything about those daffys is tinier and more delicate than most. Everyone seems to be on board with the blue & yellow, even without the Swedish connection.

  3. So pretty Ricki. The delicate daffodils look so sweet against the ‘Georgia Blue.’ I like this new Wednesday meme šŸ™‚

  4. I love blue and yellow, which is odd because I’m not that fond of yellow by itself. That first pairing is especially nice. I love both those plants!
