Schefflera davidii
My favorite plant this month is not in my own garden but in the display gardens of Joy Creek. Just get a load of that enormous Schefflera.
I couldn’t begin to get a photo that would do it justice, but believe me when I say that when the light catches the blooming stalk and dewdrops spangle the leaves, it’s enough to make one’s heart stop beating for a moment. On the last Friday of each month Loree, of Danger Garden fame, invites us to post about our favorites of the month.
Gorgeous! That is grown as a houseplant around here, but how intriguing it looks in the border!
Mine is still in a pot, but this specimen has convinced me to release it into the ground.
I bit the (wallet) bullet and purchased a two-gallon-er a few months ago. No blossoms yet but I can say I’ve officially stepped over into the “haves” group. Happy dance.
It’s a happy group, for sure.
It’s a beauty all right!
We seem to be all in agreement.
That’s a beauty !
Isn’t it just?
Love it! Are you considering purchasing one of your own? (do it!)
I have one that I got from Sean at the last HPSO fall sale (2015) but it has a ways to go. Seeing this gives me a better idea for placement.
I believe you. With that lovely description it must be true.
I wouldn’t lie to you.
This absolutely doesn’t grow here so I’ll have to enjoy yours virtually. 🙂 I hope to see you at the Fling!
There are lots of plants I have to be satisfied with enjoying virtually too (thank you, tropical bloggers!). My wonderful job prevents me from considering the Fling, but, once again, blogging will bring it into my studio. With you hosting, I’m sure it will be a blast!
It’s a beautiful plant ?
Hi, Summer…and welcome! I just made a quick visit to your blog and will be back as time allows.
Such a great plant year round!
I’ll keep my eye on it to prove you right.
I’m in SEVERE plant lust for one of those. They are gorgeous, but good grief – where would I put it?????
It does take up a good deal of space.
It has amazing structure. I can imagine how the light plays well with it.
Light is a magic ingredient and we even have some sunlight today…hooray!
